Light Your Blog on Fire – Rockin’ Girl Blogger Style
A new blog can feel like having a yard sale in the middle of the desert: No one knows you’re there unless your Mom tells them. Is your new blog going to become popular by having all of your friends and relatives tell their friends? I doubt it, unless you are Sanjaya.
You need to build a huge signal fire to get people’s attention. Roberta Ferguson shows us an excellent example of getting something started. She’s created the Rockin’ Girl Blogger movement and is creating a buzz by tagging rockin girl bloggers.
You even get a nifty badge if you’re voted a Rockin’ Girl Blogger.
You can nominate yourself if you’re a woman, you blog, and you rock. But, you have to rock! We guys are obviously not eligible for this honor but we can help spread the word. Right?
These are the Rockin’ Girl Bloggers Roberta tagged:
- Angie at SunCoastScribe
- Pfunk
- Pocklock
- Liz Strauss
- MsDanielle
These are the Rockin’ Girl Bloggers I tag, in no particular order:
- Jane May
- Shona Riddell
- Theda K
- Aimee at Foximus
- Goddess Carlie
Be creative and find a way to start your own fire.

I give props to all those who’ve been nominated so far. =) MsDanielle and Jane May rock hard!
Totally! I couldn’t agree more!
Maybe we need a Rockin’ Girl Blogger Groupie badge too.
Rock on, girls!
Thanks for talking about this site and for the vote!
Sure thing!
I hope this sweeps the net like nothing we’ve ever seen before. It’s a simple and lovely concept.
I hope it takes off too. The idea certainly has potential.
I think Roberta needs a community page on her blog to list all the Rockin’ Girl Bloggers.
…hint, hint hint…
Ooh, I got tagged with one of these a couple days back and was wondering how it got started. Now I know.
Lis: Well of course you were tagged. You rock!
I’m glad you were able to find Roberta from this post. I wish there was something more I could do to help her spread the word.
Her Rockin’ Girl Blogger movement is awesome!
Thanks for nominating me! I’ve been incommunicado for a little while (started a new job), so it’s nice to find out I’m still part of the blogosphere.
I’ll try to keep it going!
Theda, definitely keep it going and pass the love around! Your blog is rockin’!
