Is your blog smarter than a 5th grader?
Remember when Donovan guest posted those handy websites that bloggers shouldn’t do without?
I hopped on over to WebsiteGrader to have a look around. What caught my attention, aside from the lack of meta-keywords and my god-awful Technorati ranking, was the “readability level”:
Readability Level : 5th Grade
This score measures the approximate level of education necessary to read and understand the web page content. In most cases, the content should be made to be simple so that a majority of the target audience can understand it.
It just so happens that I am pretty much on the mark, while using language that I’m comfortable with, and most people can understand. It would be worse if threw in some big words, but I won’t get carried away. Not yet, anyways.
This website is very helpful in that it will tell you the areas that could use improving on your blog. That is, if you want it to be successful.
How’s your success coming along?

I’d never heard of this tool. I ran my site through and it says I am writing at an 8th grade level. And, it has a website grade of 77/100.
The best thign is that I saw so many areas pointed out that I can focus on for imprivement.
Thanks!
I think this site was a 41. I did it previously and it showed a higher grade level, so I decided to write a more in my personality, which is sometimes ‘slangy’ and it brought the reading level down. I, too, have seen the areas in which I can improve, so that was pretty cool.
