Conversational blogging

What’s your take on that? I liked Jonathan’s post on this topic so much that I decided to rattle off more information on it here.

He basically asks several questions, like what makes you click over from your RSS reader to the site to comment and things of that nature. I generally do hop on over from Bloglines if there is something that I feel I can add my two cents to. It also helps knowing that the author really cares about the responses that they get.

This is why you’ll always find that I respond to each comment and email as quickly as possible. Hopefully I’m giving you content that makes you think about things in a different perspective.

I think this topic, for me, boils down to personality. If my personality shows through on the site, then people will comment. You will read. (Are my Jedi mind tricks working?)

What would make you want to stick around on a site? What makes you want to answer a list of questions that the author has thrown out there? Do you feel that your opinions and points of view are welcomed?

Hey Roberta, thanx a bunch for taking the conversation on your blog :)

I feel when I can add something to the discussions I add value, that’s the main reason why I comment on blog posts, I have 100+ blogs in my feedreader, so let’s say I realize the importance of a catchy headline. But still I try to visit the blogs I like, not necessarly through my feed reader, don’t know why but I can remember all the urls hehe, it’s all in there in that container called the brain lol, I found that when I like a blog I’ll remember the address (like yours). Oh and the “subscribe to comments” plugin helps a lot too :)

    Jonathan,
I agree, 100%. Only when I feel that I have something to add, do I feel the need to comment. I never comment just to say “great site” or “nice post!”, those are pretty much bogus comments, unless meant with total sincerity….even then, it’s hard to tell….

I’m going to have to grab that plugin…sounds nifty. I remember your url too, so I go on over and check out what you’ve written.

Good Day! To use credit cards or cash is the own choice of everyone. For me it is more convenient to purchase and travel with credit cards. I carry cash very seldom because today credit cards are available almost everywhere. I am going to Spain this vacation and yesterday applied for a new credit card at
