Writing what you know
Generally, when starting a blog, we have a tendency to cover mostly topics that we know, or care about. If you are truly passionate about a specific subject (or more), then give it a go.
Readers who are into the same subjects that you blog about will usually find their way to your blog. As long as you are communicating and writing meaningful posts, readers will come.
Birds of a feather, flock together.
This is true for blogging, as well. If you blog about blogging, chances are, I’ll find you, even if it’s just to see what you’re writing about. I also blog about the city of Cleveland, so I happen to meander onto other blogs dealing with the same thing. I’m always looking for a way to put my spin on new content or provide more information on a certain subject.
You should take to task the things you know the most. If it’s your life, for a personal blog, or blogging about making money online, as long as you are well versed in the topic, you should be great to continue on your blogging journey.
Maybe before starting, a good idea would be for you to jot down all of the subjects that you are truly passionate about. Afterwards, number them and see what ranks at the top. This is your niche.
Or niches, if you want your blog to include several different topics of your interest. This way, you have more avenues for advertising, as well.
Happy blogging!

Nice site! I found you through a link from blogthatoutside and I think you are on to something here. There’s a great deal of things to learn when first starting to blog and it’s a good idea to have a place where you can find information for just that.
Good luck.
Cheers!
