WordPress Plugins for Your New Blog
Here is a complete list of my recommended WordPress plugins. I will keep this list up to date and I find more interesting and useful plugins. These are not in any particular order:
- Aizatto’s Related Posts – Returns a list of the related entries based on active/passive keyword matches.
- Akismet – Akismet checks your comments against the Akismet web service to see if they look like spam or not.
- DoFollow – Disable the ?nofollow? tagging for comments.
- Google Sitemaps – This generator will create a Google compliant sitemap of your WordPress blog.
- Live Comment Preview – Adds a live preview to your comment form.
- No Ping Wait – Speeds up posting by moving generic pings to execute-pings.php.
- Peter’s Custom Anti-Spam – Stop a lot of spambots from polluting your site by making visitors identify a random word displayed as an image before commenting.
- SEO Title Tag – Search engine optimize your blog?s title tags.
- Show Top Commentators – Encourage more feedback and discussion from readers, by rewarding them every time they post a comment!
- Subscribe To Comments – Allows readers to recieve notifications of new comments that are posted to an entry.
- Trackping Separator – This plugin provide useful template functions to separate comments, trackbacks, and pings.
- WordPress Database Backup – On-demand backup of your WordPress database.
- LMB^Box Comment Quicktags – Inserts a quicktag toolbar in the blog comment form.

My favourite of these would have to be the database backup plugin. I couldn’t live with out it.
Goddess Carlie: I couldn’t agree more. I recently changed the host of this blog and was able to restore the entire site within minutes.
