WordPress VS Blogger

Some of you may know my posts at PureBlogging as a guest blogger. I decided to put my junk out there for your public consumption.

Who will win when it comes to WordPress vs. Blogger? Let’s let them duke it out and see for ourselves.

WordPress:
Pros:

  • Easy to use.
  • Updatable
  • Flexible
  • Themes galore
  • You can brand yourself
  • Free

Cons:

  • Are there any?

Blogger:
Pros:

  • Instant setup, two minutes and you’re blogging
  • Free
  • You don’t have to be a hardcore designer to do updates
  • It’s a place to muck around & find your voice

Cons:

  • The yournamehere.blogspot.com
  • When you get serious, you may want to migrate to your own domain
  • No real branding
  • You’re promoting Blogger, not yourself

Any thoughts?

I’ve never used anything but WordPress so I can’t objectively compare it with Blogger, but I think WordPress is the way to go for new bloggers.

I first started my blog using WordPress’ free hosting, then migrated it to my own domain and hosting account (within days). I was amazed how easy it was to export all the posts and comments and import into my hosted solution.

The interface is clean and easy to use, the plug-ins are awesome, and there are tons of free templates available. What more could you ask for?

I agree. WordPress is so easy to install and use, I can’t think of using anything else now.
